Host families needed for next year

Now is the time to sign up to host a foreign exchange student. If interested, contact information for the various foreign exchange organizations can be found with District Registrar Patty Remondino in Student Services.

“The organization did everything,” foreign exchange hostess Amy Draper said. “We worked with the organization YFU (Youth for Understanding) and even though they were expensive they took care of everything. We couldn’t have done it without them.”

Each organization takes host families through step by step processes, each process varying according to the organization. Host families may have the option of which student they host, how long it is for and how they want it all to play out.

“The best part is building the relationship with the exchange student,” Draper said. “Everyone in the house has a different experience with it. It’s a very cool experience.”
