Student Senate is hosting a dance marathon on Saturday, April 25 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. At the event, participants will stay active for six hours to raise money for charity. There is no cost to participate however everyone who signs up is encouraged to raise $50.

In order to raise money you can pick up a packet in Student Services where you will get more information on how to raise money and keep track of your sponsors.

This marathon is a fundraiser to support My Team Triumph and summer camp for students with disabilities. The money for My Team Triumph will go toward buying a new trailer to hold all the new equipment purchased from the dance marathon proceeds last year. The rest of the money will go toward the summer camp and make the program accessible to more students.

“Everyone should participate in Dance Marathon because it supports two great causes that are close to home,” Student Senate President Devin Merz said.

At the marathon students will participate in a variety of team building activities, learn new dances, styles of dancing, freestyling, and obstacle courses to keep everyone moving.

“It helps keep people active and is a fun and energy-filled event,” Merz said.
