School to host CPR training

A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course will be offered to students on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. For just $20, participants can become CPR certified in the Large Group Instruction room.

Heartsaver courses like this one regularly cost about $45 to $60. The proceeds from this Heartsaver event will benefit the EMT class at the Careerline Tech Center. It will be taught by certified instructors who are able to certify other participants.

Diederichsen is accepting sign-ups until Friday, Jan. 15, and there are only 30 slots available.

“Anybody should want to be CPR trained just so that you can help anyone in distress, whether it’s family members, neighbors, or just strangers on the street, it would be good to know how to save somebody’s life,” Diederichsen said.
