Grand Haven rugby falls to Kalamazoo in the Division 2 state finals

What happened: The Buccaneer rugby squad faced off against Kalamazoo in the Division 2 state finals on May 30. The Bucs came up short to the undefeated team, 10-5 allowing Kalamazoo to claim their second straight state title. The club finished off their second season 7-2.

Key player: Senior Chase Peggo was presented with the sportsmanship award at the conclusion of the game. Peggo has been a part of the team since it’s start last spring. He stepped into a leadership role this season and has been a key contributor to the team.

Who scored: Senior Luke Larkin ran the ball for a try earning the Bucs five points.
