Reviews: Snow Patrol- I Won’t Let You Go

The Divergent soundtrack is full of techno and club-like beats. But one song, unlike the others, has really stuck out to me. I Won’t Let You Go by Snow Patrol has swiftly made it’s way to the top of my playlist. Weather you’re in the mood to relax and do homework or scream out the lyrics at the top of your lungs, this song suffices for both. With it’s slow start and constant base to the crescendoing chorus that leaves you with goosebumps and a smile.

The musical aspect is right on key, but the lyrics seem to strike right to the core. “The smile comes despite the danger, get some” the lead singer, Gary Lightbody, sings leaving you pondering over the meaning. Fans of Snow Patrol will be happy to know this song has some of their original sound along with the a refreshing modern feel mixed it. If you fell in love with Divergent, the song will be welcomed by you for it capture the entire essence of the thrilling romance. And if you are just looking for a song to belt out on long road trips, or to listen to on repeat without getting sick of it, this is the song for you. Snow Patrol has conjured a musical, lyrical, and masterful work of art, all wrapped up in the form of one song. I can already feel this song climbing its way to the top of the charts and becoming a favorite for the ages.
