Album of the week: The Vamps

Jess Ashburn, Reporter

Boy bands are always a teenage girl’s favorite obsession, especially when they come out with a new album.

The Vamps have recently come out with a new album, “Wake Up”, named after their single that came out previously. They are a British pop band that consists of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Brad Simpson, guitarist James McVey, bass guitarist Connor Ball, and drummer Tristan Evans.

A great part of this album is that it is all about love, and I also enjoyed how different this album is than their previous ones because it has rap and more of an electronic element.

Most of the songs are fast pace except for a few such as “Million Words” or “Coming Home”. This is a good thing and a bad thing because each song contains many similarities, especially since they all are about love.

The singers have a more of a high pitched tone in their voice almost similar to the boy bands One Direction or 5 Seconds of Summer. They are a younger group and sing music that a young age group would prefer.

The album was rated 4 and a half stars on iTunes. It has been getting positive feedback on iTunes from people saying how edgy this album has been.

This is a great album to jam out to with friends and I would recommend it to anyone interested in pop boy bands.
