The “Walk 4 Paws” event is being held to benefit the Harbor Humane Society and Muskegon Humane Society. Seniors Rachel Greer, Kirsten Prelesnik and Miciah Hirr have put this 5k run/walk event together, which will take place Saturday, Dec. 3 at 9 a.m.

“[The Humane Societies] are really excited that high school students are interested in them,” Greer said. “The high school doesn’t really focus on the humane society very much.”

The event will be held at the North Ottawa Community Hospital Employee Parking lot. Participants can pay $25 to run the day of the race. An extra $5 can be paid to have a dog run with you.

“I am really excited for all of the dogs,” Greer said. “They are going to be super cute and I am very excited to raise money for the dogs.”
