The marching band competed against eight other schools in the Grand Haven Marching Band Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 25.

No score was received due to the fact that Grand Haven hosted and was the only band competing in its division.

“We put a lot on the field,” band director Ian Novoselich said. “So, just the sheer quantity accomplished was great.”

The band played for a little over six minutes and performed 50 formations. They plan to expand on the performance for their half-time show, increasing to seven and a half minutes with 60 formations.

“There’s a lot of difficult tempo changes and just shifts that happen in the music that were executed really well, and overall we had a really great first show for us,” Novoselich said. “We’re happy with what the judges’ comments are, and we know a path forward so we can grow as an ensemble.”
