Several people suggested the movie “Soul” to my family and me. They said it was moving and excellent. So we decided to view it and see for ourselves how fantastic it is.
And they were right. Every scene, plot, characters, and humor was exceptionally well thought out.
“Soul” introduces Joe Gardner (voice of Jamie Foxx) as a middle-school band teacher who gets a chance of a lifetime to play with the best jazz club in town. But one misstep takes Gardner from the streets of New York City to the Great Before, a place where new souls get their “spark” before going to Earth as a baby. Gardner is determined to return to his life of music. He teams up with Soul 22 (voice of Tina Fey), who has never been appealed to human life and together they find answers to some of life’s biggest questions.
Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey do a spectacular job to show viewers the importance of human existence and the regrets people have or make. The movie will capture the attention of an audience of all ages. The music was exquisite. My mom loves jazz music and the addition of jazz made it more enjoyable for her to watch.
The movie brings awareness of what life has to offer, and that there is more to life than just focusing on one passion.
Sometimes I find myself going to one thing after another so fast that I’m not paying attention to my life. This movie reminded me that I should take life for granted because I only get one life and I should spend it wisely and go slow and expand my horizon to different opportunities.
Passion is a strong and uncontrollable emotion. It reaches the greatest depth of our souls and draws out our deepest and most hidden feelings. It can cast out anything.
The strongest aspect of this movie is how it revealed the importance of passion and the choices we make in life. Gardner had regrets about not seeing the world and focusing his whole life on music. If Gardner slowed down and opened more room in his life for other chances then he wouldn’t have questioned the life he is living. I think this is an effective movie to learn more about the regrets people make and how to change them.
Overall, this is a great movie with a mix of comedy and passion all rolled into one. If you are looking for a move that will help question your life then this is undoubtedly the movie for you.
