PJ Moffet, Reporter

Notable American Results: The most anticipated competitor, Mikaela Shiffrin representing the U.S., started the youngest Olympic slalom champion. All eyes were on her to see how she’d perform after a four-year 5th place streak. Last night she resiliently won her 2nd gold medal in the women’s giant slalom competition. Ragnhild Mowinckel, representing Norway, won a silver and Italy’s Federica Brignone followed with a bronze.

Notable Other Results: Although Norway only took 2nd in the women’s giant slalom competition, they dominated the men’s alpine skiing events. Both gold medalist Aksel Lund Svindal and Kjetil Jansrud represented Norway taking the 1st and 2nd place in men’s alpine skiing. Canada finished strong battling the U.S. with a 2-1 victory.

What to Watch For: If you loved Shaun White’s entertaining game in the men’s snowboarding event on Tuesday, you’ll enjoy today’s men’s snowboard cross. Also, more hockey will continue tonight at 10:00 pm. The U.S. will take on Slovakia.
