Senior attack Jerica Tallman challenges an opposing West Ottawa defender in the midst of a close game

What Happened: In a key mid-season clash against the Lowell Red Arrows, the Lady Bucs took complete charge of the game, handily winning 14-6. With a fast start, the Bucs powered through to halftime and never looked back. Late game goals from junior Emilee Schaub and senior Paige Kramer extended the lead and erased any hopes the Lowell girls had left. With injuries opening up holes throughout the defense, leadership from senior-duo Alexis Nesbitt and Natasha Robertson kept Grand Haven in front and gave the opposing Red Arrows no chance to turn the tables. A solid outing for the Lady Bucs was dearly needed to get the momentum back in their favor.

They Said It: “We didn’t play our best in the first game, so Lowell came back and we ended up winning in overtime,” senior Christina Byrne said. “This time around we planned for them really well and placed our shots well.”

Up Next: With a week off for rest, the Lady Bucs prepare for an away contest against the ladies of Grand Rapids Christian on Monday, May 7.
