Miller wrestles a Hudsonville opponent in a home district meet. He has been the Bucs No. 1 wrestler this year with a near-perfect record.

WHAT’S HAPPENING: Senior Cody Miller and junior Riley Rhone are going to Ford Field in Detroit to compete for a state championship this weekend. They are the leading two wrestlers for the squad. They have to compete against the best in the state, both having the #1 wrestlers in their brackets. For Rhone, being the number two wrestler in the state for his weight class is going to be important for him to hold that position in the rankings.

THEY SAID IT: “I think both of us are going to place top four or six,” Rhone said. “I think Cody has one of the tougher brackets, but he can make it to the semifinals. As long as he wrestles well, I think he can make it to the finals.”

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: The matches start on Friday, March 1 and go through Saturday.
