The boys swim team huddles up during a meet versus West Ottawa. The boys will take on the conference meet at Hudsonville high school on Feb. 27.

Nick Twa, Business Manager

Thursday night, the boys swim team took on West Ottawa on senior night, falling in a hard-fought battle. Even though the team lost, players were not disheartened.

“You know, senior night is always a good time,” MacDonald said. “We get to celebrate the seniors who are some of my good friends moving on to bigger and better things. Just a good way to end their career.”

As the season starts to come to a close, the mindset of the entire squad becomes very important. With nearing the end of the season comes training, which is very important yet grueling for swimmers.

“Right now we’re just training,” MacDonald said. “We’re doing the best that we can, but we’re not going to have our best times right now. Because we’re training hard. Hopefully we’ll have a good taper for the conference meet.”

The squad’s next meet is the conference meet, starting on Feb. 27 at Hudsonville High School.
