FITNESS CENTER: Students using the weight room after school.

Misgana Deur, Life Editor

Starting Monday, Oct. 5 the school’s fitness center will be opening up. Every Monday through Thursday students are allowed to train in the weight room.

“In the past, we would just open the door and kids could come freely in and out, but now we can only have 25 at a time due to the Coronavirus,” supervisor for the fitness center Keith Williams said.

The fitness center runs from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Doors will shut at 3:05 p.m. regardless of numbers. Only 25 students will be allowed in each day. Once you are in, if you leave you will not be allowed to re-enter. All participants must complete a screening process before each workout.

“It’s a great after school activity for kids that are looking for something new,” Williams said.

Each station must be wiped down after completing lift. In order to keep the fitness center open, all participants must keep social distance as much as possible. They also must wear masks. If these rules are not being followed then access to the fitness center will be lost.

“I just want students to know it’s a safe place to come and hang out with friends,” Williams said.
