Senior Angela Tran was recognized as one of the December Rotary Student of the Month this week. She chose English teacher Angela Dean to be her accompanying teacher. 

“Mrs. Dean has had a huge influence on the student I am,” Tran said. “We’ve been able to get very close. She’s always been a teacher I can talk to.”

The Rotary Club chooses students who are well-rounded and accomplished to win the prestigious award.  

Traditionally, the students of the month chose their teacher accompaniment to attend a celebratory lunch with them. This year due to COVID, there was no lunch but rather a Zoom meeting.

“It was still really an awesome experience,” Tran said. “I’m just glad that it was done in a safe way especially with how things are going right now. It was a huge honor to be there.”
