This week is a slow week in the movie world. Only one film is seeing major release, with Stuart Beattie’s I, Frankenstein. While new pickings are slim, the plethora of movies released last week should see thinner crowds than on their opening weekend. So for the claustrophobic among us, this is the time to check out last week’s offerings.
I, Frankenstein
Genre: Action/ Fantasy
Directed By: Stuart Beattie
Starring: Aaron Eckhart, Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy
Rating: PG-13
The only newcomer this week is I, Frankenstein; a modern twist on the classic Frankenstein tale. However, this film doesn’t take it’s source material from Shelley’s classic. Instead, it draws from a graphic novel of the same name. It stars Aaron Eckhart as Frankenstein, Yvonne Strahovski as Terra, and Bill Nighy as Naberius. It’s being produced by the same company that made the (admittedly lackluster) Underworld films, which doesn’t bode well for I, Frankenstein. Yet somehow, early reviews have been positive, and it holds a 6.9 out of 10 rating on IMDB. If you’re interested in the plot, or if really pretty looking action sequences appeal to you, go check it out.
