Landman takes second in slalom
Senior Hannah Landman takes second in the slalom and 10th in giant slalom at the MHSAA State Finals for downhill skiing.
Feb 24
Girls basketball beats West Ottawa 59-52
After a 49-41 loss earlier in the season, the Buccaneers came back for a 59-52 win over the Panthers on Tuesday night.
Boys basketball beats West Ottawa 53-51
In a failed 3 pointer attempt at the buzzer by West Ottawa, Grand Haven held up their two point lead Tuesday night.

Orchestra hosts festival
Concert, Chamber and Symphony Orchestras all earn Division 1 ratings at Wednesday’s festival. Chamber orchestra will continue to state festival.
Basketball hosts No More Sidelines
The boys and girls basketball team host a workshop with students who have special needs to take them off the sidelines and include them in the game.

Band hosts festival
Following orchestra’s success, Concert band and Wind Ensemble earned division 1 ratings while Symphonic band earned a division 2.
Feb 27
Wrestling sent off to state
Students lined the hallway on Friday during third hour to send off the wrestlers to state team competition for the second time in school history.
Boys swim team competes in Conference
The boys swim team competed at Conference at West Ottawa High School. Cole Kramer, Hayden Schouman, Grant Ruster and Spencer Poort, Brennen Latchaw qualified for state.
Wrestling ends season with a loss
Wrestling traveled to compete in the team state finals. The team fell to Anchor Bay 49-12, finihsing off the season with a 26-4 overall record and an 8-0 record in the O-K Red conference.
Feb 28
Bowlers advance to state finals
Buccaneer bowlers, Jimmy Mitchell and Kaleb Schmidt finished in the top-10 of the Division 1 individual regionals. They will both compete in the finals at Sunnybrook Lanes in Sterling Heights on Mar 6-ll.
Hockey falls to Forest Hills
Bucs lost 4-2 at Forest Hills on Saturday night, Nick Soto and Nick Emmerick scored the two Grand Haven goals. Their next game is district match tonight at 6 p.m against Rockford at Griff’s Ice House in Grand Rapids.
First annual Song and Dance workshop
Choir students volunteer to coach and chaperone students from kindergarten to fifth grade, teaching them choreography to popular songs with a performance at the end for their parents.
Strong performance at power lifting regionals
Jacob Bessinger and Andrew Dalman each won regional champions at the largest powerlifting event held at Mona Shores. Drew Bruursema, Nathan VanZee, Matt VanHeest, Hunter Bessinger, John Struntz, and Andrew Dalman qualified in the varsity division, Mikayla Gronback advanced in the womens division and Trevor Jones-Hirr, Jack Costello, Jacob Bessinger, Deacon Pooleand, Draven Hitsman qualified for the junior varsity division.
Students serve others with Project Linus
On Saturday, a group of students came together to make blankets for children in need in Kent, Muskegon and Ottawa county.
