Experts from local colleges help students at FAFSA workshop
November 13, 2016
Experts from numerous local colleges came to help students and parents fill out the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The workshop was held in from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 9.
Reps came from colleges like Grand Valley and Hope to help students fill explain to parents what they would be paying for.
“It takes about 30 minutes to fill out an application and then after that, students go through a process on the FAFSA website,” counselor Steve Evink said.
The attendance was low, so another FAFSA workshop may be in sight in the near future.
“We only had six kids show up so I’m hoping we will hold another workshop on a weekend, so more students could receive help,” Evink said.
