Friday night fish fry fun
Grand Haven choir holding fish fry fundraiser
The Grand Haven high school choir is hosting a fish fry this Friday November 8. The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in downtown Grand Haven. Every Friday night, the Eagles hosts a fish fry which often includes community organizations and nonprofits to help them raise money. This Friday, the Eagles Club will cook the food and the choir students will serve, clean tables, and collect tips and donations.
The choir runs around two fundraisers per year. This year, they have sold chocolate bars and will host the first annual fish fry. This event was organized through the choir boosters – a group of parents who help with raising money for the program. The funds will be used for music, uniforms, transportation and supplemental materials such as keyboards.
Information for this event has been conveyed to all booster parents and families as well as on the Grand Haven choir Facebook. Turnout will be essential, but there is one main barrier in the way.
“We hope that the community will come out but we know that the football game is also Friday night,” choir Director Juli Dick said. “So I’m not sure about the turnout, but we’re going to just, you know, we’re going to do the best.”
