Teacher Juli Dick works with Chorale Ensemble as they continue to prepare for their upcoming concert on Oct. 9.

The first choir concert of the year will happen on Oct. 9. The performance will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the PAC.

This year’s theme is The Music of the Queens and Kings and will feature songs by Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Micheal Jackson, Tina Turner and Frank Sinatra.

“Be confident, trust your ability that goes further than always singing everything correctly just be confident and believe in yourself” choir teacher Juli Dick said.

Soloists from each choir and grade level will be put in the spotlight. Among the soloists is Junior David Ramirez, who will perform a solo from We Are the World by Lenor Lionel Riche and Micheal Jackson.

“Try not to overthink, rather you are good enough or if you mess up, get out of your comfort zone and just go for it,” David Ramirez said.
