Fry Nation boasts flavorful options and excellent customer service

Fry Nation, located off of US-31 between Mancino’s Pizza and Platenga’s cleaners.

LOCATION: 13040 US-31, Grand Haven MI 49417

HOURS: Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

WHAT TO ORDER: With Fries crisped to perfection, a generous drizzle of potato cheese sauce, and immaculate spices and herbs, the Loaded Baked Potato fries are at the top of my list for Fry Nations’ menu. Just try not to look at the calories.

ATMOSPHERE: As a family-owned business, the restaurant radiates a friendly and inviting vibe. At closing time, music and singing can be heard blasting from the back kitchen.

MY THOUGHTS: I first came across the joint when making my usual Mancino’s pizza run. A new average restaurant seems to pop up in that strip every other year, so I figured I might as well give this one a taste.

When I first tried Fry Nation, I was expecting the obvious, a generic box of mediocre fries in a styrofoam box. I was pleased to discover a variety of flavorful options, such as gyros, burgers, and tacos. With the combination of varying menu items, excellent customer service, great prices, and a short drive from the high school, Fry Nation is your next stop when craving a deep-fried snack.
