The Bucs drop the Titans 43-32

What happened: Last night the girls basketball team took on the Traverse City West Titans in their season home opener. They started the game off quick with an eleven point lead and ended the first half on top 24-13. The Bucs’ rebounded well and continued to score with authority. Sophomores Alexia Bouwhuis and Sophie Mariani both contributed eight points in the Buccaneers’ victory. They finished the game strong and defeated the Titans 46-32.

They said it: “I thought we played well for our first game of the season having such a young team… but there are much tougher teams ahead… We have to play with more sense of urgency on the defensive end,” head coach Katie Kowalczyk-Fulmer said.

Key Player: Freshman Alli Keyser lead the Bucs with a strong performance for her first varsity game scoring 17 points.

 

Up next: On Tuesday Dec. 8, the Bucs will take on Caledonia at home.
