Bucs win both games in doubleheader against rival West Ottawa

Buccaneer batter up to the plate, hitting was vital for the Bucs in both of their wins yesterday

What: The Bucs won both games in their double header against a tough West Ottawa team by scores of 2-0 and 6-2. The Panthers were coming into the game playing good ball with a 14-6 record. Grand Haven entered the game with a 7-11 record.  Pitching was outstanding only allowing two runs total. These two wins were not only important for the Bucs season, they were also key for the team’s confidence. Beating a talented rival like West Ottawa gives the team a huge boost in momentum that should help them as the season progresses.

 

They said it: “Having [the guys] believe in themselves gives them fuel for the future.” Coach Hansen said.
Up next: The Bucs face West Ottawa once again on Thursday at home hoping to pull off the sweep.
