Sophomore Cooper Fox crunches a defender against the glass. Even though he is only a sophomore, Fox’s talent and skill have helped the Bucs greatly this season.

What Happened: The Grand Haven varsity hockey team competed against Kalamazoo United last Saturday and came out victorious with a four to one win. Adding to the score sheet was senior Brandon Beeler finishing with a hat trick (three goals) and junior Kyle Eveland with one assist. Eveland leads the team this season in points with seven. Kalamazoo racked up 31 penalty minutes during the game which really put them behind and stuck them in a rock and a bad position the whole contest, allowing Grand Haven to get the advantage.

They Said It: “We’ve worked really hard to stay conditioned, so we were able to roll three or four lines of capable players to stay fresh the whole game,” said junior Trevor Kalis.

Up Next: The Bucs will be heading to Hudsonville on Dec. 15, to face the Eagles, who sit with a two and four overall record.
