What Happened: Christmas did not come early for the Grand Haven hockey team, as they fell 3-2 in a hard-fought home contest to Bay Reps. The Bucs matched every opposing attack with their stingy defense and penalty kill, but, the team fell off the rails once Bay Reps broke the gate open and scored two crucial goals in the second period. Grand Haven was able to hang around with senior Austin Fox’s leadership on offense and junior Jax Plumert holding together an aggressive defense.

They Said It: “You could say they were the best team we’ve played all season,” Plumert said. “A few big penalties slowed us down, yet we came back in the third and just weren’t able to score another.”

Up Next: The Bucs look to rebuild and rest up over their long break before their next battle on the road against Grand Rapids West Catholic on Jan. 5.
