What Happened: In one of their final regular-season clashes, the Bucs hockey team took on conference rival Grand Rapids West Catholic on home ice and shut them down, earning Grand Haven a 5-2 victory. Having the upper hand at the end of the first powered the Bucs to cruise to yet another key conference win. Big goals by junior Jax Plumert, a defenseman, and others proved to be vital as the team got offensive support from skaters other than the usual suspects.

They Said It: “[My goal] was a quick shot from the blue line in the first and I was able to catch the goalie off guard,” junior Jax Plumert said. “We played a really good defensive game on top of that.”

Up Next: The Bucs hockey team plays their final match, senior night, at home on Friday, Feb. 23, facing off against the Jenison Wildcats. This game will be crucial for postseason seeding implications.
