The boys and girls cross country teams will travel to Riverside Park at 4 p.m. for the conference championships on Thursday, October 17. The boys are currently ranked 4th and the girls are ranked 5th in the O-K Red Conference.

“Our goal is really to get as many guys in all conference as we possibly can,” boys coach John Tarr said. “We’re looking to drop some time, we’re looking to get those guys all conference and get ready to run in the regionals next week”

The boys team is going to push themselves and go all out.

“We really don’t have anything to lose” Tarr said. “We are gonna have them try to get some PR’s”

They are going to use this meet as preparation for Regionals.

“One of our big goals is to get ourselves in a big meet that means something important so that when we come to the regional meet next week we can handle the pressure.” Tarr said

The girls team hopes to raise their standings in the O-K Red conference. They also hope to qualify for the state meet.

“We are looking to close the gap on the 4th place team tomorrow,” girls coach Scott Przystas said. “Going into Regionals we will have a couple of our top runners back which gives us hope that we can qualify as a team for the State meet”

They will face challenges with this course.

“It will be a soft wet course and may not be fast, so the girls will have to run tough in order to accomplish our goals,” Przystas said. “The girls will have to be mental giants.”
