WHAT HAPPENED

The girls varsity golf team played in their only home match at pigeon creek last night despite the inclement weather. They faced eight other teams in a jamboree, placing fourth overall. The weather had a negative effect on the ladies’ scores, as they typically have been placing second or third.

WHAT IT MEANS

The girls are working towards shooting lower scores to prepare for regionals and states. This match revealed their biggest competitor, with Rockford placing first again. The weather pushed the girls to play hard, and ideal conditions will only be beneficial to their scores.

THEY SAID IT
“It felt like we were playing in a hurricane,” junior Morgan Wezeman said. “It was so windy, the ball was going every which way,” she said.

MOVING FORWARD

The next varsity match takes place at Caledonia on Monday Sept. 27.
