Annual Light Night will showcase shops’ holiday window displays

What: The streets of downtown Grand Haven will be filled with bubbly smiles and Christmas cheer as the town prepares for the holiday season. Light Night is an event started by Grand Haven’s Main Street promotions committee. It allows stores to host their own holiday open houses and show off their decorated window displays.

When: Light night will take place on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 from 5-8 p.m.

Where: The jolly holiday spirit in downtown Grand Haven will appear on the first three blocks of Washington Avenue and Seventh Street.

They said it: It’s best to encourage everyone to unite and celebrate the kick off to the Christmas season by having Light Night,” co-owner of Borr’s Shoes and Accessories, Sharon Behm said.

What to expect: The joyful noise of Christmas music will play as you meander up and down the street with decorated storefront windows. Some of the stores will offer treats, store promotions and there will be free hot cocoa and shopping bags. Also, transportation will be available by the Harbor Shuttle up and down Washington Avenue and Seventh Street.
