Five things that happened last week

  1. Sergio Garcia won the 2017 Masters tournament in a playoff victory over Justin Rose. This was Garcia’s first major tournament win. Garcia has played in 74 major tournaments and has come close to victory in many, but has never been able to pull it off until now.
  2. The United States launched missiles at a Syrian airbase following an attack involving chemical weapons on civilians by the Bashar al-Assad regime. The catastrophic attack by the regime/Syrian government killed as many as 72 people including women and children. That number could still be on the rise.
  3. Delta Airlines cancelled approximately 3,000 flights due to severe weather. After great amounts of chaos and stress, Delta Airlines is back to running smoothly with Monday flights mostly on time.
  4. The North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs to win the 2017 March Madness tournament giving the school their sixth National Championship in Men’s Basketball.
  5. At least 49 people are dead after a deadly terror attack in Egypt. On Palm Sunday, two deadly bombings occurred at Coptic Christian churches. Isis has claimed responsibility for the attacks held on one of the most valuable days for the Christian religion.
