Clearing the next hurdle

Grand haven high schools Collen Casey graduates from the Gene Rothi field to the Houseman field. After competing in the indoor nationals this past winter and running for the track team this spring, Casey will run for Aquinas track and field team this fall.

Track is life: "Track means a lot to me, the sport has always been there for me and is the best part of the year," Casey said. "The sport has taught me a lot and allowed me to make great friends and coaches."

Status symbol: Casey ran at the 2015 indoor new balance nationals hosted at the armory in New York City. Casey finished 64th in the 110 meter high hurdles.

Looking ahead: Casey is attending Aquinas college in the fall and will be studying pre-veterinary/biology."My goals next year for track are to simply compete and improve, make new relationships and meet new coaches and people," Casey said. "I just want to be the best runner i can be and represent my college"
