Juliette Beals
November 18, 2019
Senior Juliette Beals was chosen as the November Rotary Student of the Month on Monday, Nov. 18.
“Honestly, I was a little surprised,” Beals said, “I think I was most surprised that I was the third month. I thought if I was to get it, it would be more towards the end of the year after more academically distinguished people, but it was nice.”
Beals chose teacher Brian Williams to accompany her when receiving the award at the luncheon at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 925 this afternoon.
“I chose Mr. Williams because he worked with me and, I work with him, as a student senate adviser,” Beals said. “He’s been my mentor since before freshman year. So even when I walked in the doors on my first day of my freshman year, I always knew him and he’s been a great resource for a lot of things. He’s always been helpful and kind and I know that a lot of other students think that as well. He was my go-to person. I didn’t have to think twice about it.”
Beals had to give a two to three minute speech following her receiving the award.
“I wasn’t super worried about it. It was kind of what I’ve achieved academically and then a little bit about the teacher I chose,” Beals said. “And I normally have a lot to say about Mr. Williams.”
