The final blood drive of the school year will take place next Tuesday, Feb. 11 in the aux gym. Students may sign up at the tables set up during lunch or through Mr. Diederichsen in room 8201.

All previous blood drives so far this year have been very successful and the staff and students in charge are anticipating similar results. 

“Even if we don’t meet our goal we just really like doing it here at the high school,” Diederichsen said. “Our goal really is to get kids to want to be lifelong donors.”

The goal is to fill the day with donors, but Diederichsen noted that can sometimes be difficult. Regardless of how successful the blood drive is, however, students still get to enjoy knowing that they’ve helped another person in need through the school’s sponsor organization Versiti.

“Even if our goal is 60, and we only have 50 that come in, that’s still a great day,” Diederichsen said. “That’s 50 more units of blood that Versiti didn’t have that morning.”
