Eliza Taylor recognized as February Rotary Student of the Month
Senior Eliza Taylor was honored as February Rotary Student of the Month. She was chosen for her leadership skills and academic excellence.
Typically, the students of the month are invited to a luncheon. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting was held virtually over a Zoom call. Although Taylor didn’t get the typical experience, she was still glad she got to be a part of the event.
“I thought the Zoom call went well,” Taylor said. “It was very easy and we got to do it through school. I don’t really know what we missed out on because we didn’t really know what it was supposed to be like.”
Taylor was asked to choose a person of significance to accompany her on the call. She chose English teacher Jodi Heard.
“I chose Mrs. Heard because she is a good teacher,” Taylor said. “She cares a lot about her students both in school and out of school.”
Taylor was grateful to be recognized by the Rotary Club and learned a lot from the experience.
“I learned that it is good to work hard all the time,” Taylor said. “You may get recognized even if it doesn’t seem like you will.”
