Along with many other clubs and sports, the Science Olympiad team faced the cancelation of their season due to the coronavirus outbreak this spring.

Senior Samantha Kasbohm was full of disappointment and shock when she discovered school and the Science O season was canceled.

“I was very upset and since it’s my senior year it was shocking,” Kasbohm said.

Kasbohm has many memories from Science O that she will carry with her through the rest of her life.

“My favorite part of science olympiad was the competitions at Michigan State and GVSU,” Kasbohm said. “It was fun being with everyone and hanging out on the college campuses.”

While her Science Olympiad and high school experience have come to an end she offers some advice for future newcomers and captains of upcoming teams.

“Do not give up, it can be really hard in the events. But it all works out and will help you later in your life”, Kasbohm said.
