Christian Horst Simco – better known as RiFF RAFF or JODY HiGHROLLER, is a 32-year-old rapper who is bringing a new approach to the rap game. RiFF RAFF’s style is apparent in not only his music, but in his air and personality as well – distinguishing him from the rest.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Simco started his rap career shortly after he dropped out of community college – later than most rappers. While living in Texas, RiFF RAFF’s persona grew as he started listening to influential rappers such as Slim Thug and Paul Wall. In 2005 RiFF took his career seriously and started dropping CD’s and freestyle videos for free. RiFF RAFF was discovered by a former rapper and comedian, Simon Rex (Dirt Nasty), and formed a rap group with Andy Milonakis, another comedian, alias Three Loco.

RiFF RAFF rhymes with passion, ambition and originality. Instead of claiming what gang or hometown he represents, he represents himself. His songs are comprised of phrases that tend to raise many questions within listeners because they don’t make sense to many people. Many wonder – is he a lyrical genius or a moronic fool? Although his songs may sound like nonsense – the deeper meaning is latent and usually need to be looked up. Another frequent question is – why does RiFF RAFF stylize everything lowercase i’s? Nobody is still really sure.

RiFF RAFF’s new popularity is continuing to grow and extends beyond music. Although you may not have heard of him, there’s a good chance you’ve seen him through one of your social media feeds. With over 1,000,000 followers on Twitter, 725,000 followers on Instagram and 831,000 followers on Vine – he shows up quite often.

In June he released his latest album, NEON iCON, which describes RiFF’s striking appearance. A tall, tatted up, white male with cornrows and copious amounts of bling, he even claimed that the main character from the movie Spring Breakers was inspired by him. His incomparable look has created attention and reflects how his music sounds.

Many critics are skeptical of RiFF RAFF and label him as obnoxious and idiotic because they don’t realize how skillful he is. RiFF RAFF is misunderstood, which is all apart of his look.
