Casual school dance to raise money for Renaissance Club

The Renaissance Club will host a casual dance with a $5 admission fee, $4 with a blue card, or $3 with a gold card. The dance is on Feb. 14, following the basketball game and will last until 11:30pm. Breathalyzers and wristbands will once again be used.

“I’ve worked the admissions table before,” Renaissance club coordinator Michelle Strainer said. “It’s great to see how many students take advantage of the discount.”

The money raised from the the dance goes toward purchasing academic letters and pins for juniors and seniors with a GPA of a 3.5 or higher as well as the Renaissance treat days.

“If juniors have the correct GPA they get an academic letter, seniors who continue to receive a 3.5 get a pin,” Strainer said. “ It’s great to see kids being students first, and athletes second.”
