Dance marathon sign up coming to close

Student Senate will host a six hour dance marathon will take place from 4 until 10 p.m. on Saturday April 19. All dancers will be divided into groups of five or you can register as a team by having your forms together when you turn them in. All forms must be turned in to the main office or Abby William’s room (7204), by Friday, Feb. 28.

“The senior class has wanted a project,” sophomore senate adviser Brian Williams said. “They really wanted something that would benefit a population at our school.”

There is no registration fee but each dancer is asked to raise at least $50 in pledges from sponsors. All money will be donated to “My Team Triumph,” a nationwide organization that recently opened a Lakeshore branch. The charity allows physically challenged adults, teens, children and veterans to be a part of triathlons and road races. During the event, participants will learn new dances including one specific to the dance marathon, and hear testimonies from those involved with the charity. Each team will be assigned a color and must represent that color in any way they please. Teams will be posted in the cafeteria on April 2.

“The benefactor is so amazing I hope people will do it just for who will benefit,” Williams said.
