HELPING HAND: John Josephson helping a student in class. “Even if you didn’t vote for me, please do this to support our teachers,” Josephson said. “Because we’re all stressed out right now. And anytime that we can get some positive feedback is just a huge boost for all of us.”

Students voted last week for staff pick of the month and Government teacher John Josephson was chosen.

“I was very honored,” Josephson said. “It was something that I really valued. It was so nice to have the students acknowledge the hard work that I do and that makes me feel like I have an impact here.”

After they voted, students were able to leave a comment as to why they chose the teacher and give acknowledgments about them.

“I think that’s the best part of it,” Josephson said. “Because we’re all stressed out right now and anytime that we can get some positive feedback is just a huge boost for all of us.”

Josephson supports the idea of staff of the month but feels it could be expanded on.

“I hope that we select people outside of just popular teachers,” Josephson said. “It shouldn’t be a popularity contest. We have so many amazing people here. From our secretaries, different officers and para pros, that do such great work with everyone that they should be acknowledged because everyone’s really doing their best.”
