On Friday Feb. 28, The boys varsity basketball team hosted the West Ottawa Panthers for the O-K Red conference finale. Grand Haven (13-5, 7-3, O-K Red) started off hot with an 11-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bucs did not trail once the whole game on their way to a 61-51 victory over the Panthers, clinching a share of the O-K Red conference title. West Ottawa (15-3, 6-3 O-K Red) has the same number of losses as the Grand Haven team, But due to a game against Hudsonville earlier this season, that had to be called with 2 minutes, 22 seconds left remaining the Panthers have one less contest played, allowing for the conference title tie. Coaches are unsure how the Conference plans to proceed.
