Buccaneer cross country team sprints to victory at Allendale Falcon invite

What Happened: The boys varsity cross country team took on the Allendale Falcon Invite last Saturday and placed first overall.

 

What It Means: The Buccaneers will move up in this week’s state rankings and will have momentum going into this weeks O-K Red jamboree meet.

 

Key Moment: Senior Dominic Weatherwax was the Division 1 champion and helped take first place in the meet as a team.

 

Three Stars:

 

  • First Star: Dominic Weatherwax set a new personal record this weekend with a time of 16:01.

 

  • Second and Third Stars: The team. All five top runners ( Senior Andrew Ireland, Weatherwax, Sophomore Cole Rowden, Senior Aidan Martin, and Senior Kyle Eveland) finished in the top 20 of the meet, helping the Bucs cruise to a victory.

 

They Said it:  

  • “We’re second in the conference right now,” Martin said. “ [We’re] ranked 12th in the state but those rankings should go up after Wednesday’s meet where we’re planning to run really well.”

 

Up Next: After this weekend, the Bucs are looking to move up in the rankings and moving forward.They are looking to progress and become a faster team as the year moves on.
