What: The boys varsity lacrosse team played three games this week and put up a 1-2 record. The lone victory came on Saturday April 27 against Portage Central where they were able to win by a score of 10-4. The other contests were played on April 23 where the Bucs fell to Grand Rapids Christian by a score of 9-2 and April 25 where they were soundly defeated by the Lakers of Spring lake by a score of 10-1.

 

What This Means: The team is off to a 3-5 start to the year under first year head coach Kyle Hitsman.

 

Key Players:  Senior Brendon Gross had a hat-trick in the victory over Portage Central.

 

They said it: “I think we started out slow,” Senior Kyle Eveland said. “But now after a few games we know how to play with each other better.”

 

Up Next: The Buccaneers face off at home against the Grandville Bulldogs on April 30 as they look to advance closer to the .500 mark.
