Girls varsity basketball defeats Traverse City Central High School
What happened
The girl’s varsity basketball team defeated Traverse City on Friday, December 6 in their first game of the season. The Bucs started off strong, backing off right before the second half. They gained their strength back at the end and finished the game with a score of 32-27.
What this means
The Buccaneers start off the season with a win and hope to continue their season undefeated. For their next game, the Bucs will be on the road playing against Reeths Puffer on Friday, December 13.
Key players
Caydee Constant led the team with the most points and had three assists. Constant made three from the three point line, adding nine points to the overall score.
Zoe Spoelman was the defensive player of the game with a total of ten rebounds and three blocked shots. Spoleman also scored three points for the team.
Morgan Goss led the team in the number of steals she had with a total of three for the bucs.

“Overall I am really proud of my team and how hard we played our first game,” Morgan Goss said. “We are a young team and there were definitely some first game jitters but a win is a win and now it’s just about focusing on growing together.”
