Caleb Berko

Students of the month have been chosen for the Rotary club, and the male student of November is senior Caleb Berko.
Chosen for his leadership abilities and academic records, Berko couldn’t be more thrilled.
“I was a little surprised to get the letter in the mail, I think it’s an honor that I was chosen,” Berko said. “I’m trying to stay humble about it and not let any of it go to my head too much, I think that’s important to try and stay humble.”
Students of the month choose a teacher or adult that have inspired them and helped them grow. These teachers are given the opportunity to see how they have impacted their students before they graduate.
“I chose Mrs. Drake, the principal of Peach Plains. She has just had a great impact on me,” Berko said. “I admire her for her dedication to working with students and me when I was that age because I was a troublemaker. Her perseverance has stuck with me and has ultimately played an integral role in shaping me into who I am today.”
Berko was not only surprised by his student of the month status, but he also realizes what an honorable opportunity he has been given.
“I’m grateful and thankful for the opportunity to be a student of the month,” Berko said. “Apparently my previous record has been something that has stuck out and that’s cool that it’s being recognized.”
