Senior Owen Ross drives to the hoop past a defender. As an intense player, Ross will be a catalyst for the Bucs this season.

Tonight, the boys basketball team takes on the Lakers of Spring Lake with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.. Along with being the Battle of the Bridge game, it is also Bucs Pride night, so the players will be playing for a purpose.

“We’re not playing for ourselves,” senior Adam Strom said. “We’re playing for the person on the back of our warm ups. That gives all of us a little extra boost of energy and drives us to play hard.”

This matchup of Tri-Cities rivals is always entertaining for both sides, and brings a raucous atmosphere to whatever gym the game is played in. No matter the talent level, the game is a sight to behold.

“I feel like we stack up well but that doesn’t matter,” Strom said. “It’s just going to matter who wants it more.”
