Girls varsity basketball suffers a tough loss to East Kentwood
What happened
The girl’s varsity basketball team was defeated by East Kentwood on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at their home court. The Bucs remained strong throughout the whole game and never seemed to give up. However, not enough shots were going in for the Bucs to take a win. The game ended with a score of 68-31.
What this means
The lady Bucs’ next game takes place at home against Jenison High School on Friday, Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m.
Key players
Jolee Houle was the leading scorer of the team with a total of 12 points, two of them being three-pointers.
Alyssa Hatzel contributed five points to the Bucs’ score, making one two-pointer and one three-pointer.
Caydee Constant also added five points to the total 31 from the team making one two-pointer and one three-pointer.
They said it
“Last night definitely did not showcase our abilities and what we are capable of. There wasn’t a lot of strengths in that game but what did come from it was the drive and fight we all have in ourselves from it,” said Alyssa Hatzel. “It is only going to make us stronger for our game Friday night. It was a tough lesson, but I am confident that we all learned from it and we are going to come out that much stronger Friday night.”
