Girls basketball travels to Rockford
WHEN/WHERE:
The girls varsity basketball team will travel to Rockford to take on the Rams on Friday Feb. 14. The theme for the student section is Valentine’s and tip-off will begin at 6:00 p.m. Put on some red and pink to support your Lady Bucs.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
In a previous encounter the girls lost 60-25. It is expected to be a tough game for the Bucs as the Rams are third in the conference and have a record of 10-4, but they are ready to show up and give it their all.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
- Senior Jolee Houle (#22) leads the offense with an average of 11.6 points and 3.5 assists per game.
- Sophomore Zoe Spoelman (#25) is a major defensive presence and averages 2.9 blocks per game. She also leads the team with 5.7 rebounds per game.
THEY SAID IT:
“To improve and get ready for this game, we have been watching film from previous games and fixing our offense,” sophomore Zoe Spoelman said. “Coach always tells us nothing is broken and we just have to learn from our mistakes. Our biggest goal is to get back in transition defense and we hope to compete with this team.”
