Senior Mock Trial team receives Honorable Mention at regional tournament

The Senior Mock Trial team received honorable mention at the regional tournament this past weekend. All three teams traveled to Ann Arbor on Saturday, Feb. 24 to compete in a simulation of jury trials.
“Our program is very new,” Senior member Audrey Reus said. “Most (other teams) have been around for decades and most people have been competing for multiple years. On our team we had multiple people compete for the first time.”
The club members competed on both the prosecution and defense side while being judged by professional judges, lawyers, and law students. This is only the Mock Trial club’s second year of competing, but they were able to take third place out of 12 other teams.
“For a new program, this is a very good start,” Reus said.

I am thrilled GHHS has finally gotten a team together. You all make your community exceptionally proud! Keep up the good work, you have some catching up to do, although some may say that’s debatable!!
