What happened: The boys varsity soccer team won 2-0 against Spring Lake at the Bucs Pride game last Thursday.

What does this mean: The boys are ranked second in the conference and first in the district. They are undefeated so far this season.

Key player: Sophomore Payton Wright scored both goals in the first half. One came from a penalty kick.

They said it:

“Emotions are high. The boys were pumped to play,” coach Nick Tejchma said. “I’m proud of these guys.”

“Everyone was hyped and it translated straight onto the field,” captain Logan Petrus said.

“This is a big win, but there’s bigger things we have to do,” captain Ryan Heck said.

What’s next: The Bucs will face off against West Ottawa on Monday, Oct. 3, at 6:45 for the OK Red conference tournament.
