On Friday night shoes will whine on the polished wood of the court in Mona Shores high school while screaming fanatics fill the student section. The gymnasium air thickens with anticipation. As we enter the most exciting winter sport season of Grand Haven athletics, the questions posed ‘will the boys basketball team be ready’.

This year, the squad will rely on a trio of guards to fill the shoes left by three year starters Zac Holman and Ross Koella. Seniors Malic Love, Kellum Bridgeforth, and junior Casey Constant will do this with their speed rather than size. These team leaders will leave Grand Haven high school with no doubt that we’re running at full speed into a very promising basketball season.

”Our team is missing the height we had last year but we have some really fast kids,” Love said. “Our chemistry is really good this year.”
